In the southeastern section of the Blöde region, somewhat southwards of the ruins of Takar, is the small Ogre town of Sardonyx. Lying along the banks of the northern branch of the Thon-Varah River, which originates out of Silvanesti, this town serves as one of the two gateways into the Blöde region from the south and also serves to guard the capital of Blöten.

During the Age of Mortals, the coming of the dragon Onysablet led to the creation of a massive swamp, which almost consumed the town and now has it sitting on the border between Sable's Swamp and the region of Blöde.
