In the southern reaches of Blödehelm, near the south-western foothills of the Khalkist Mountains lies the ruin of Vantal. In ancient times, the site was home to an ancient ogre city of the High Ogres, however the human warlords of Blödehelm who constructed the city of Vantal later built over the ogre ruins. The streets and some of the buildings from the ancient days were still intact, and the human residents merely built upon the existing foundations. Into the Age of Despair, Vantal was a thriving city and the jewel of the Blödehelm region, which was ruled by a human king who had a well-developed army that dominated the realm. The city maintained a tight alliance with the town of Langtree to secure the Blödehelm region against the ogres.

However all came to naught during the Age of Mortals, as the coming of the dragon Onysablet saw the Blödehelm region turned into a swamp and Vantal was destroyed, leaving the city as little more than a series of ruins.
