Nightmares are large black warhorses that have powerful physiques, deep red nostrils as if of fire, and hooves wreathed in flames. They are proud and fierce animals that serve many residents of the Abyss and are known to primarily serve the god Chemosh.

Nightmares are wild and black-hearted creatures, that have the ability to fly, even though they possess no wings. They rarely allow anyone to ride them, although they make exceptions at the commands of Chemosh or if they are tamed by a notably powerful person. One can not hear a Nightmare walking because it is completely void of any sound.
