Howlers are pack beasts of the Abyss that are long-legged and covered in spiky hair. Whilst they are predatory and bestial in appearance, howlers are surprisingly intelligent, but can only howl and not speak. By nature, howlers are cowardly and cruel, and therefore hunt only in packs. They are occasionally used by mounts by the denizens of the Abyss, and are the known servants of Zeboim and Hiddukel. Both the dark gods occasionally send howlers to their favored priests to aid them, although Zeboim usually alters her howlers so that they can swim and breathe in water. References
