Kannya Zan (? - ? PC) was a member of the esteemed Pakin family, and the cousin of the Pakin Pretender. However unlike most of her family, she was wed to Lord Breyhard, an Ergothian nobleman and a Rider of the Great Horde. Kannya was the first wife of Breyhard and was a portly woman, who had dark brown hair and was still attractive, irrespective of her size. When her husband was killed in battle in 2401 PC, Kannya and her children, along with Breyhard's second wife were taken to the court of Ergoth Emperor Ackal V. The emperor decided to spare Kannya and her children, but had Breyhard's younger wife executed in retaliation for Breyhard's failure on the field of battle.

Lady Kannya took her children and fled to the port town of Thorngoth, where she spoke with every member of the Pakin family she could find, and tried to incite them to rise up against the foul emperor.
