UrakanArticle written by UzielUrakan (? - 2412 PC) was an Ergothian Lord who was a general and one of the nobility. The fierce warrior was known as a tactician and hero of the realm in the reign of Pakin III, and ultimately became the leader of all the imperial forces in the Ergothian Empire. Lord Urakan was a well-built muscular man, who had the bearing and build of a man who trained long in the martial arts. He had black hair and often wore a silver circlet, and also commonly wore burgundy-colored robes.
The Ergothian general was known to have a fierce temper and was also rather disdainful of commoners, much like many of his fellow nobles. He served as commander-in-chief of the Ergothian forces during the Battle of the Great Green in 2416 PC, answerable to Crown Prince Amaltar directly. From 2414 PC - 2412 PC, Lord Urakan led a large number of hordes against the forces of Tarsis. The Ergothian general led his forces in a number of battles against the Tarsans, finding himself pitted against the barbarian hordes of Chieftain Krato, and the Tarsan mercenaries led by the elven general Janissiron Tylocostathan. Whilst Urakan was able to push back Krato's barbarians over the Thel, he found a portion of his forces were soundly defeated by General Tylocost. For two years the fighting went back and forth, with no obvious victor in place. In 2412 PC, Lord Urakan settled his forces near the Kender port town of Far-to-go. Whilst at their camp, there was an outbreak of the Red Wrack, a plague which devastated Urakan and his men. However relief arrived with Lord Tolandruth and the wizard Mandes, later in 2412 PC. The wizard was apparently responsible for the plague at the behest of the Bakali hordes, but was also able to cure Urakan and his army. The general and his surviving forces were restored to health and continued the fight against the Tarsans. Lord Urakan led his forces once more against those of Tylocost, and marched across Three Rose Creek, however the elven general defeated Urakan on the field of battle, and the Ergothian lord was forced to flee with his remnant forces back to the kender town of Old Port. Again, Lord Tolandruth, who led his own forces to strike at the army of General Tylocost, saved the nobleman from destruction. With the enemy sufficiently distracted, Urakan led his personal horde, the Golden Riders of Caer against the enemy, however the brave general was finally slain by Tylocost's men. References
