Rhakyl KormothArticle written by Kranar DroginRhakyl Kormoth (? - ca. 385 AC) was a very powerful Red Robe Wizard who thought himself the next head of the Red Robes. He was also known to have owned the Starsunderer artifact, even though he wouldn't tell anyone that he had it. Chaos WarDuring the Chaos War, Rhakyl battled daemon warriors and shadow-wights alongside his fellow wizards and other warriors. He was able to use his thunderbolts and flames to destroy many of the creatures of Chaos. The victory against Chaos though was a bittersweet one for Rhakyl, for when the war was won all wizards lost their magic. Post Chaos WarFollowing the war, Rhakyl read through all his magic books to find a way to bring High Sorcery back to Krynn. He finally thought he found a way to bring back magic to Krynn and it involved his most prized possession, Starsunderer. Another former Red Robe named Aran Glowstrider tried to stop him from unleashing the power of the artifact, but Rhakyl turned on Aran and knocked him unconscious. One dark and dreary night, Rhakyl entered the Darkhaven Clearing near Pax Tharkas. There, Rhakyl performed an arcane ritual that involved him pricking his finger and allowing the blood to drip onto Starsunderer. Little did Rhakyl know that this ritual would go all wrong. The power of the artifact was too strong for Rhakyl to control, and when he lost control Starsunderer detonated, destroying the Clearing and killing Rhakyl in the process. Following Rhakyl's death and the destruction of the Clearing, Rhakyl's ghost wandered the Clearing. It is unknown what has become of him following the War of Souls. References
