Ganthirogani de-OrilgArticle written by Ninrandir the White FoxGanthirogani de-Orilg (? - Summer, 1010 PC) or Ganth for short, was the mate of Kyri de-Orilg and father of Kaziganthi de-Orilg, a rebellious but noble-hearted warrior and sea captain. Ganth traveled with his future mate Kyri to an unknown island where they confronted both Sargas and Zeboim, who forbade them leaving. But when Kiri-Jolith intervened, Ganth took the chance to escape and fled with Kyri; he became a follower of Kiri-Jolith. He married Kyri a short time afterwards and Kaz was their firstborn of six, including three more sons, Raud de-Orilg and Toron de-Orilg, an unnamed one; plus two daughters, Fliara de-Orilg and an unnamed one. NethosakWhen the minotaur ship Gladiator sank with Ganth in command, his wife Kyri among the lost, everyone assumed Ganth was dead. He was reunited with his son Kaz years later when the latter arrived in Nethosak, searching for his brother in-law Hecar de-Orilg. Agreeing to help Kaz rescue Hecar, Ganth planned to take them to the Orilg clan house to seek aid. Before they could do so, they were caught by the state guard, led by Scurn de-Orilg, who took Kaz and Ganth to the temple where the high priest Jopfer de-Teskos awaited them. When Kaz refused an offer for power and glory, he and Ganth were imprisoned to face combat execution, where they were reunited with Hecar. After Kaz killed a meredrake in the arena the next day, a diversion was created to allow Ganth and company to flee. They were captured by their clan house and taken to meet the patriarch, where they also met one of Ganth's daughters, Fliara. Ganth appeased the patriarch on Kaz's behalf, allowing them both to leave the clan. Ganth and company found Kaz's kender friend Delbin Knotwillow and high priest Jopfer in the temple, where Kaz revealed that the high priest was the Red Dragon Infernus. DeathEnraged at the one responsible for the deaths of his wife Kyri and son Raud, Ganth charged the dragon, but was killed with a single swipe of the dragon's claw. He was avenged when Kaz slew Infernus, and Ganth's body given a funeral of honor to match those of past emperors. References
