With the child-emperor Dalar unable to rule, four warlords rose to govern in his place. One of these warlords was Rykard Gonzakan (? - ? PC}, and after a few short years after the four regents battling against the Pakin forces of Mellamy Zan, he was also the sole surviving regent by 2391 PC. At this time, tired of serving a child, General Gonzakan had the child-emperor Dalar disposed of so he could rule the kingdom.

However Mellamy Zan's forces arrived at Daltigoth and she took the throne instead by force. For 100 days, Mellamy ruled, before General Gonzakan gathered enough Ackal loyalists to depose her. From the latter stages of 2391 until 2352 PC, General Gonzakan ruled as the Regent of Ergoth, but was equivalent in power to an emperor. He ruled with an iron fist and sent his Ackal faction against the Pakin forces, until his forces finally crumbled before the might of Pakin IV in 2352 PC.
