Pakin Zan (? - 2499 PC) was a fearsome warlord who married into the Ackal line and ultimately became the Emperor of Ergoth, ruling from 2530 PC to 2499 PC. Since he was not an Ackal, Pakin Zan changed many things about the way the empire was run, and altered a number of traditions. He was famed for finally defeating the Bakali hordes, which had plagued the kingdom for several decades and was also known to have sacked the city of Ulladu on the western coast of Ergoth.

The emperor was believed to have possessed a nullstone, which caused all magic directed at him to fail. As the mighty warlord lay on his deathbed, a black rook stole the nullstone from him however, shortly before he passed away in 2499 PC. Pakin Zan was succeeded by his son Ergothas III.
