Macqui Hellman (? - ? PC) came from a long line of Ergothian generals and warlords, and was himself the commander of the Imperial Guard in the court of Quevalin XI. However in 1900 PC, when Quevalin XI tried to introduce the rule that any future emperor must be of his blood and a wizard of the Conclave, Macqui was outraged along with many other Ergothians.

He led his loyal forces into Quevalin XI's court and ousted the former emperor from power. Macqui Hellman then became the Emperor of Ergoth in 1900 and ruled for the next few years. He was known by some as "The Usurper" and he and his following successors began a brutal and corrupt reign over Ergoth, letting the once-proud nation descend into greed and the throne continued it's exploit of it's people.
