Suzine des QuivalinArticle written by Kranar Drogin & DarcwulfSuzine des Quivalin (? - 2140 PC) was born into Ergothian nobility, and was a niece of Ergoth Emperor Quivalin Soth V. She was also a Duchess and a mistress to General Giarna. Later, during the Kinslayer War, she married the elven general Kith-Kanan in 2189 PC and together they had two children, Verhanna Kanan and Ulvian Kanan.
Suzine was known to have had coppery red hair, high cheekbones, a proud, narrow chin, and green eyes. Kinslayer WarWhen General Giarna was one of three generals sent against the Silvanesti nation, he had his mistress Suzine come with him and use Suzine's Mirror to spy on the enemy movements. Over the course of the beginning of the war, she gave Giarna true information, which allowed him to win many battles against the elves. As the war progress and Suzine watch Kith-Kanan through her mirror, she realized she was falling in love with Ergoth's greatest enemy. She finally saw her chance to betray Giarna during the Siege of Sithelbec and did not tell the General of Kith-Kanan's return or his massing of troops. When Kith-Kanan's troops broke Giarna's lines, the elf general fought his way to her and saved her from being killed. They became lovers, and eventually got married. For this, she was disowned by everyone in Ergoth, and branded a traitor to her people. Suzine faithfully stayed at Kith-Kanan's side, until the last year of the Kinslayer War. By then, Suzine was very old, and was the joke of many of the Silvanesti Elf jokes. In a last chance to try and help the elves win the war, she again went to Giarna. She tried to take his life, but found that no human could kill him. So when Giarna said he would interrogate her, she took a dagger and took her own life so no information would be given to Giarna. By this last desperate act, she saved the elven army from being crushed in a defeat. References
