Quevalin VIII, the GamblerArticle written by UzielQuevalin VIII (? - 1997 PC) was the Emperor of Ergoth from 2023 PC to 1997 PC. The son of Quevalin VII, the young Quevalin VIII assumed the throne after his father passed away of old age. Like his father, Quevalin VIII was fond of the arts and particularly history, founding the Imperial University in Gwynned. During his rule, he was also famed for sanctioning the looting of Ogre ruins for historical purposes, to gather ancient artifacts for later study.
The emperor was personally involved in translating ancient ogre writing into Ergot, however he passed away before he could complete the works. Quevalin VIII was known as a risk-taker and a man who preferred immersing himself in his love of arts and his hobbies, rather than worrying about politics, an attitude which earned him the title "the Gambler".
