Guy Avondale

Guy Avondale (? - ? PC) was a commander for the Empire of Ergoth during the Third Dragon War, and a Cleric of Paladine. Guy was known to have been a decent man and a brilliant strategist. It is known that he had at least one son, but he was killed in his first battle he fought in. He was a Lord out of the city of Durendi.

Third Dragon War

During the Third Dragon War, Avondale was put in command of all the armies of the Empire by the decree of the Emperor of Ergoth Bestell III. While out searching for some Clerics of Morgion, he ran into a young Knight of the Crown named Huma Dragonbane. Immediately, Avondale saw a mark of Morgion on Huma and thought that he was tied with them in some sort of way.

So he held Huma for a time, until suddenly he disappeared into some ruins. While in the ruins Magius met up with Huma and they left to continue their journey, and Avondale was able to take his troops into the ruins and destroy the sect while searching for Huma. For the next couple weeks, Avondale stayed camped out on the plains until again, he ran into Huma but with some unique companions.

Avondale met Kaz and Heart, and saw the weapon of importance that Huma had been searching for...the Dragonlance. Avondale saw the importance of this and held onto Huma in his camp. Huma was suspecting that Avondale would turn him into his Emperor, but they were simply waiting for a couple more dragons to come assist them in going to Vingaard Keep. To Huma's surprise, Avondale stated he would be coming with them, and he then left orders with his commanders to take the armies and march them on Vingaard Keep to assist the besieged Knights there.

Avondale took to a Silver Dragon who was a sister to Heart. Together they became part of the first twenty dragonlance fighters. Avondale fought time and time again at Huma's side in the skies above Vingaard, and together they achieved victory over Takhisis. His armies even arrived in time to hit the dark armies from behind in a surprise attack.

Post Third Dragon War

Following the war, Avondale returned back to the Empire. It is unknown what became of him, but during a time in 1013 PC, an affliction hit the Solamnic Knights who then declared Guy Avondale an outlaw by the Knights. He was later cleared of this when Kaz helped clean out a menace that was at Vingaard Keep.
