Summary: The Heart of Hope, Volume I, follows the story of six adventurers, brought together by chance, as they attempt to save the Kharolis region by empowering an ancient artifact to revitalize its decaying soil. As they explore the mysteries of the Heart of Hope, the travelers are opposed on all sides by the Knights of Neraka, the servants of the Dragon Overlord Sable, and the shadowy god Morgion. Ultimately, with the aid of exiled Neidar nobles, a riddle-loving dragon named Jester, and the Legion of Steel, the heroes manage to survive the onslaughts of their enemies and protect the Heart of Hope from those who would destroy it or use it for their own ends—at least until the harsh Kharolian winter passes. When the snows melt and the mountain passes clear though, the guardians of the ancient artifact will face new challenges in their quest to renew Kharolis.
