Tower Ulgrathby ValharicRecommended for games set during the 'Not Applicable' time period.Tower Ulgrath served as a small outpost for the Knights of Solamnia. It served as a way station for travelers from Istar to Xak Tsaroth. A company of Solamnic Knights regularly patrolled the area and were commanded by Sir Raef Und Tolland, Knight of the Rose. During the Cataclysm, when the sky rained rock and fire, lighting filled the sky, and the earth opened up. Many of the Knights panicked and attempted to flee Tower Ulgrath. Only Sir Tolland remain, cursing his men for fleeing and cowardice, and from the top of the tower Sir Tolland exclaimed "You are Knights of Solamnia and you will guard this land till a noble heart returns to this place to relieve you!" Upon his oath and curse a huge bolt of lightning struck the tower, sundering it in half and the ground opened up and swallowed the tower and all around it. Sir Tolland perished. Amazingly most of the knights survived the ordeal but were trapped in a large cavern under a mountain of rock. The Knights, realizing their shame, retrieved the body of Sir Tolland and built a crypt and placed his body in it. Upon completion of the crypt, the Knights set out from the cavern to discover a way to the surface. For weeks they wandered the tunnels but found no way out. Resigned to their fate the knights returned to Tower Ulgrath and lived out their days guarding the tower and the land around it. The player characters find themselves trapped underground (due to earthquakes, run down by a dragon, or some other reason) and must find a way out. The players find their way to Tower Ulgrath, where they discover a group of Shadowpeople being sacrificed to a whisper spider by disir. Within the tower also resides the spectral minions of the knights and a pair of mages. The players also discover a giant egg sack that is ready to hatch anytime now. List of creature encounters:
