Unwilling to join the other elves living in the sewers of Pashin, Nasrin Halladon gathered what meager supplies he could and desperately set off across the Khur Desert with his family. The apprentice silversmith had extended family in House Metalline that had fled the Dark Knight occupation months ago and had reached the human port city of Ak-Khurman safely. There he believed he could make a living for his wife Halea and his two young children Oakleaf and Bairynbee.
Unfortunately, without other elves to rely on for food, water, and protection the Halladons quickly found themselves starving and dehydrated in the brutal heat of the Burning Lands. Halea's sharp senses and clever head has largely been what has kept the family alive so far. She was always responsible for maintaining the books in the shop of her husband's master. Their oldest son Oakleaf is an excellent shot with a sling, better then his parents are with their longbows, and as been vital in bringing down what scattered small game they stumble across. Their youngest son, Bairynbee, was recently stung by a scorpion and the little boy's foot as swollen up to the size of a coconut, forcing his father to carry him. The boy only has one hit point and has suffered one point of Dexterity damage from the poison. All of them are exhausted. When the heroes find them wandering in the desert the family is truly on their last legs.
