Distinguishing Features & Mannerisms:
Sojourner has come a long way. Gone is the bitterness, spite, and anger which led her down a dark path. It took an encounter with Mishakal, one of the lost gods of Krynn for her to fight her way free of the darkness. She has learned that all creatures have a choice. One choice does define a person; one can make another choice - a better choice. She is now the voice of Mishakal on Krynn, and she seeks to give others afflicted and abused by the darkness the chance to make a new choice.
After her battle for her soul, Sojourner has been transformed; mentally, physically, and spiritually. Her eyes are now bright green instead of pools of inky blackness. On her back where once was written her pact with Jiathuli, is now a tattoo of Canus. Instead of dressing to intimidate, she now dresses conservatively and functionally. It remains to be seen what other ramifications of her redemption there are. She also does not yet know the full scope of her bond with Canus, but trusts that Mishakal made the right choice.
Sojourner feels at peace for the first time in her life. She isn't sure if her fiery temper completely burned itself out or if it still smolders deep with her; however, for the moment, she cannot seem to summon the ability to become angry.
Bristlehex is dead. Long live Sojourner.
In the sewers beneath Tarsis, the afflicted kender Bristlehex found new life An encounter with the Goddess of Healing outside an ancient temple enabled her to fight free of the dark forces attempting to claim her soul.
Mishakal took Bristlehex on a journey into her past and showed her that her choices are what led her down the path of darkness. When she reached the part of her life in which she made the pact with Jiathuli she experienced an epiphany. She realized that just because she had made bad choices in the past, did not mean she couldn't make another choice - a better one. Recalling the words of a kind gully dwarf matron Bristlehex found the strength to fight her way free of Jiathuli's influence.
The battle nearly killed her. In exorcising Jiathuli from her, she had to slay a part of herself - the part of herself which had been corrupted. With the death of this portion Bristlehex was half a person. Mishakal offered to save her; however, she could not change the kender's nature. She was still the product of a demonic father and a kender mother and would be so all of her days. The only way to save her life though was to bond her with another creature that had been abused and betrayed by evil - Canus, the Black Wolf.
Bristlehex entered into a Covenant with Mishakal, this time getting the details up front before agreeing. She and Canus were bonded, each of them filling a void in the other that had been left in their bids to be free of the darkness consuming them. Forswearing the name Bristlehex, she has now opted to call herself simply Sojourner. Both to symbolize that the corrupt part of her was dead, and to give herself a new beginning.
Sojourner has been charged with a divine mission. She is the voice of Mishakal come to prepare the world for the coming war. Her goal like that of her deity is to build communities; for only united do the people of Ansalon stand a chance.
Sojourner is an afflicted kender; however she uses the Tiefling racial traits as she is a tiefling born to a kender mother and a demon father. Other than that she is a rules as written character.
