Description:

Nawra is not a beautiful woman. She is rather plain looking with the hawkish features and olive skin common to most Khur. At 6'2" Nawra is taller than most Khurish women. She wears a leather headband tooled with symbols of Kargath to keep both her long black hair and sweat out of her eyes. She prefers riding leathers to dresses and spends considerable time on horseback.

Personality

Nawra can seem aloof to most people. She spends much of her time away from camp and doesn't quite seem to fit in with the rest of the tribe. However, once Nawra gets to know someone she warms up and is friendly and cordial. When she is not scouting for enemies of the tribe or grooming her horse; she can be found at the tribe's shrine of Kargath. These activities have left her little time to develop friendships outside of the men she rides with. Nawra knows that Kargath has chosen her to fulfill some grand purpose; though she doesn't as yet know what that purpose is.

Background:

Nawra has always felt close to two things in her life – animals and the Gods of Khur. As a young while most girls of the Tondoon tribe were learning to weave and do other household chores, Nawra was out learning to ride horses and to care for them. This marked her as an oddity in the eyes of most of the Tondoon women-folk; who couldn't believe the girl would act so manish. Her uncle, Chief Jingo the Sly was constantly admonishing her to be more lady-like. His son and successor, Malik decided rather than force her into a role she didn't want to make use of Nawra's talents and put her to work as one of the tribe's scouts.

As a scout Nawra spends much of her time in the company of the other scouts. At the age of 17 she was initiated into the cult of Kargath the Horse Warrior; a rare honor not often accorded to women. During the ceremony, Nawra had a vision of Kargath himself coming to claim her for one of his own, from that day forward she has been a stalwart follower.
