Description

Still a young adult, Sandstorm is shorter and slighter of build than other brass dragons of his age category. He has thick brassy scales, a short narrow snout, and curled ram-like horns at the back of his head. He has dark green eyes.

Rand is average height with an athletic build. He has blond hair and a matching mustache with blue eyes.

Dragons of Krynn (Alternate Form feat)

In Your Campaign:

Rand Lucas is an NPC from Key of Destiny by Christopher Coyle. For details on his role in the adventure please see p. 94 – 95 and 98 of the module. However, it was revealed on p. 36 of Dragons of Krynn by Cam Banks, Sean Everette, and Amanda Valentine that Rand is in fact a disguised brass dragon named Sandulcar (Sandstorm).

The Dungeon Master may wish to alter the random encounter where the PCs encounter Rand being roughed up in the alleyway by half-ogre goons. Considering Rand is a dragon it is unlikely that the half-ogres could actually knock him out or provide a real threat to the character. The DM could replace the half-ogres with Dark Knight spies (or even Thorn or Skull knights) who have discovered Rand's true nature and are using minor dragon bane weapons or cold spells against him.

Or, keeping the half-ogres, the dragon could simply see new faces passing by and be so eager for new gossip that he could feign unconsciousness (with an appropriate Bluff check) in the hopes the heroes will intervene on his behalf. Should this occur the dragon should reward the heroes normally for their bravery, but pump them for information about themselves and the places they've been.
