The minotaur brothers, along with their other brother Myca, were crewing on a minotaur naval vessel which was attacked and destroyed by a pirate fleet. The three were enslaved, chained to oars in the bowels of a mighty wargalley. Each brother was given the task of rowing an oar all by themselves, something that required three humans to do. Mycah the strongest of the three managed to free himself of his bonds, but was discovered before he could free his brothers. Mycah took out half the ships warriors before the pirates managed to finally subdue him. The pirates tortured Mycah to death.
A Palanthian fleet rooted out and trapped this pirate fleet in a small bay. The ensuing battle became known as the Battle Red Sands Bay for the amount of blood that was shed that day. Captain Flynn whose ship was sinking boarded the wargalley with the remainder of his crew. Flynn outnumbered by the pirates sought reinforcements in the form of the galley slaves. He freed the two brothers first and that was enough. The two enraged brothers decimated their pirate captors gaining vengeance for their dead brother.
The two brothers swore an oath to pay Flynn back for the service he had done them and were the first two to sign up on Flynn's new ship the "Palanthas Star". The brothers distinguished themselves with their service aboard the "Star", becoming famous (or infamous depending on your point of view) for their insistence at being the first two to board any ship the "Star" took. The two fought excellently together, Stavros would charge ahead with his reckless abandon trusting his brother to follow in his wake, to manage anything he missed and to watch his back.
The Minotaur brothers were mysteriously lost at sea with the rest of the "Palnthas Star's" crew.
