Description:

Black shoulder length hair, blue eyes, 5ft 8inches tall with a sleek build. Jhonnas Quinnan maintains a well groomed suave appearance, but isn't obsessive about it.

Background:

The history of Jhonnas Quinna is mysterious and full of gaps in which he disappeared only to reemerge at a later date, usually with more power than before. What little is known of his life is troubling, a half-elf born late in the Age of Despair, Quinnan has openly admitted to working for the Dragonarmies. Unsubstantiated reports have emerged from time to time that linked him to this or that atrocity from that war, but he has always been able to avoid any official charges. He disappeared form many years, but reemerged shortly before the Chaos war in Caergoth where he used what appeared to be plunder loot or teasure to purchase numerous waterfront dives, which he did admittedly rebuild, but later the knights of Solamnia discovered that these were dens of corruption, - brothels, illegal casinos, fight arena's and drug dens. Quinnan was imprisoned, but managed to "disappear" in the confusion as the Knights of Takhisis took control of the continent. Rumours have said that he was freed by the Knights, and that he may have even been one of their agents. There have also been unsubstantiated reports that he fought and killed a daemon warrior single handedly in the Khurish desert, this would explain why he has such good contacts in Khur.

He once more emerged from obscurity five years before the War of Souls, he had some how managed to gain control of a fleet of merchant ships and had set up an import export business. He returned to Solamnia and setup headquarters in Palanthas. The Dark knights investigated Quinnan Freight numerous times for the illegal importation of goods, but they always failed to find any hard evidence. Over the next few years his grasp on the waterfront grew, with the purchase of warehouses, taverns and even private docks for his ships. At the time of Palanthas' liberation, rumours were rife that Quinnan had a private agreement with the dark knights and that he helped several of their key figures flee the wrath of the Knights of Solamnia.

Tactics:

Jhonnas Quinnan is a very wealthy man with a great many of dubious contacts and as a result he has the wealth and means to acquire pretty much any common non-artifact magical item he desires. He usually carries at least two wands one of which will be either a wand of fireballs or wand of lightening, the other is usually a little more unusual. He will carefully plan out any encounter he expects to have and carry items he believes will be of use. Quinnan is not afraid to go toe-to-toe with a foe, having confidence in his martial and magical abilities, but he has no great ego either and if he is outclassed he will retreat. If he is not too badly injured he will retreat to a safe distance and continue to attack but this time with magic wands scrolls, etc If hurt significantly he will flee via teleportation,(in his ring of spell storing) to one of several hideouts each with it's own cache of equipment. Jhonnas Quinnan is above all a survivor.

Adventure Hooks:

The PC's could be hired by some of the more upset members of the traditional Solamnic nobility to investigate Jhonnas Quinnan with the aim of finding evidence of his past "crimes". They could find evidence that either proves or disproves Quinnans guilt as is appropriate to the individual campaign.

The PC's are hired by Quinnan to escort a caravan of goods from Khuristan to Blode, during a bandit attack they discover the cargo is a shipment of of captured elves bound for the Ogre Titans.

A senator is assassinated, Jhonnas Quinnan seen standing over the dead body flees the scene of the crime. The PC's are assigned the task/hired by the Emperor to track down, capture and return the noble for trial. Along the way the PC's could discover that Quinnan is the Emperors man, a spy in his employ and has been framed while uncovering a plot to undermine the economy of empire.

Several of Quinnan's ships have attacked and sacked merchant ships. Quinnan is arrested and taken before the Emperor. Quinnan claims no knowledge of the piracy and begs the Emperor for a chance to track down the true culprits. The Emperor grants the request on the condition that the PC's go as an "escort".
