Her brown hair falls in waves to her shoulders like the mane of a lion. In the past she proudly wore the strange and colorful tattoos of the wild elves; after her resurrection though, her tattoos changed from an oak leaf and a lightning bolt to a blue feather that curls from her forehead down to her left cheek. This blue feather marks her as one of Habbakuk's chosen. Feril knows she is living on Habbakuk's grace. She is very tired and would like more than anything to complete her mission and go to her well deserved rest. Lately though she is feeling that she is somehow disappointing Habbakuk. Everyday she pushes herself to the point of exhaustion, but still she feels it is not enough. HistoryFerilleagh Dawnsprinter is an elf with a tragic destiny and living on borrowed time. She belonged to a sect of druids and rangers known as the "Kar'deshtan il Verden Irman" or "Wardens of the Green Gate". The watchers of the Green Gate are an ancient organization founded in the Age of Dreams to serve as Wardens of the prison pocket dimension known as the Valley of the Perfect Silences. The Valley held only one prisoner; Jiathuli, the so called "Handmaiden of Takhisis. She was to remain imprisoned for all time. Fragments of a prophecy by one of Feril's ancestors foretold of a time when Jiathuli would be released. A time of cold and darkness would wash over the land burying the lands of elves and men. The prophecy is clear that the threat would not come from Jiathuli, but the evil she unwittingly let into the world. During the Chaos War, daemon warriors succeeded in releasing Jiathuli from the Valley of the Perfect Silences, by sundering the Green Gate. Moments after the gate was sundered as great rush of frigid cold emerged from the gate. The Wardens of the Green Gate were present to stand against the forces of Chaos but failed; all of them falling in battle. The last to fall was Feril. She recalled the words of the prophecy that "the world shall be lost to frigid oblivion unless one rises "From the fires reborn to fight the Frost". With her last breaths she beseeched Habbakuk, to allow her to continue the fight. The last thing she saw before darkness took her was a single blue feather falling. She awoke some hours later. The bodies of the fallen surrounded her. Her right cheek burned, but her wounds had been healed. Looking in a nearby puddle she discovered that the oak leaf tattoo on her check had changed to a blue feather. She was alive, but it came as cold comfort. Jiathuli had escaped and a great evil loosed upon the world. Looking around she discovered that the entrance to the Valley of the Perfect Silences had been sealed; filled with rock and fused solid. Feril looked for other survivors of the ill fated defense of the Green Gate but there were none; she was the only one. Since awakening alone outside the Valley, Feril has searched for signs of the evil that entered the world that day. A trail of destruction followed in the wake of the creature. She discovered the flash frozen ruins of Silvamori. The buildings stood entombed in ice and the wind whistled through the empty streets. What had happened to the elves that called once called the city home? The story was the same in Qualimori. She could find no signs of life. Though she could recall having met several Qualinesti in the city, she could not recall any of their name, nor anything about them.
