Woodheart is very charismatic and determined. It has been said he has a one track mind, because he gets an idea in his head and pursues it fanatically. He is extremely courageous, but he is as inflexible as an iron rod. Woodheart values actions more than words and cannot be swayed by flowery speech.
Woodheart was captured during the War of the Lance by a draconian raiding party that was on patrol in Southern Ergoth. He was rescued from the clutches of the draconians by Silvanesti elves from the refugee city of Silvamori. The Silvanesti attempted to civilize him by enslaving him as a servant to House Royal for whom he performed many arduous tasks. He was renamed Sutaraxal in an attempt to disassociate him from his wild elf heritage. Woodheart bore no hatred to his masters, but no love either.
Woodheart was enthralled with Sturif's dreams of a land in which the Kagonesti would be free of the attempts to civilize them by the Qualinesti and Silvanesti. One night he stole weapons and armor from his masters, who had grown lax in monitoring him, and joined the rebellion. Woodheart's natural leadership and knowledge of Silvamori attracted the attention of Sturif, who tasked him with capturing the Silvamori magical arsenal. He was wounded in the battle for the arsenal, but led his recently liberated people to freedom.
