Wild Talent (Sp): Marda has powerful magical abilities, which are as yet unable to be controlled. Her magical abilities are undefined; however she has manifested the ability to use this talent when she is telling fortunes. Any time that Marda succeeds on a Profession (fortune-teller) skill check by 5 or more, she must make a Fortitude save (at the DC's given below) or unwillingly manifest part of her latent mystical ability. Marda can access any effect of an equal or lesser DC than she rolled (for example, if she rolled 20, she could use either the past–seeing or the historic vision effects). If she succeeds the skill check by 10 or more, she forces the person she is fortune-telling for to see what she sees (as if she had cast [rary's] telepathic bond on them). Use of this wild talent causes Marda an amount of non-lethal damage equal to the duplicated spell's level.

Personality

Marda is a woman who has seen and lived through nightmares. She vividly remembers the torture she had ht the claws of the draconian minions of the Black. She also still holds a great sadness and grief over the loss of her tribe, and feels is a little guilty that she survived where her family and friends did not. When she reads someone's fortune, she sees real visions, and has even made the people she is telling the fortune of see what she sees, which scares her a little.

Background

Mard and her brother, Wilie, are all that remains from their tribe after the Great Black destroyed it. Marda was captured and subjected to hideous and cruel torture at the hands of the Black's minions, before she was rescued.

The torture unlocked Marda's mystic abilities, allowing her the gift of foresight, a handy talent that allowed her to raise the steel to keep both her and her brother.

Along her journey, which took them throughout western Ansalon, Marda met Jasper Fireforge, a mystic from the Citadel of Light. He impressed upon Marda that the First Master, Goodmoon, could aid her in controlling her wild talent.
