Chief Skydancer is in prime physical condition, despite being in his thirties. He is a broad-chested man, with dusky skin and luxurious mane of blue-black hair and a strong, sharp chin. He dresses in traditional skins, the style of his people.

Chief Skydancer is an optimistic, open-minded and fair in his dealings, even with those that would use this as a weakness to undermine him and his authority. He will listen patiently to all opinions presented to him before making his judgments. He believes in the ideals of self-sufficiency and peaceful co-existence.

Chief Skydancer has struggled to retain the respect and loyalty of his people, the Que-Nal tribe. He has been under near constant political attack from the machinations of the tribal shamans, led by the elderly Shadowwalker.

He encourages the Que-Nal to believe in the Gods, and he thinks that the Gods will decide who wins the power struggles within the tribe – him or Shadowwalker.

Chief Skydancer has had an unrequited love for the elven lady, Iryl Songbrook, ever since he first laid eyes upon her. His dreams of keeping his tribe unified and the fact that he is already married to Seasinger, mean that he can never act upon this love.
