Appearance:The Lady of Glade dresses in the traditional colours of Zivilyn in a long, flowing green robe complete with heavy hood, bound around her waist and upper arms with golden cord; the holy symbol of the Wise One clearly seen at her throat. The Lady, although she does not appear so, is actually well into her 60's. those who meet her are amazed at her youthful appearance, and yet, sense through the timeless quality, that great age weighs upon her and in her eyes. Background:Out on the Plains of Solamnia there is a wide copse of trees of all kinds and sizes, untouched by the signs of warfare that so commonly can be seen in Solamnia. One of the tributaries of the mighty Vingaard River runs from one side of the copse to the other, before meandering off towards the sea. You could easily walk through this pristine copse within twenty minutes, thinking nothing more about it, if it were not for the Lady of the Glade. The Lady of Glade is one of the most prominent oracles and seers of Krynn. She sits atop a large, slightly oval rock of some hard mineral, surrounded on all sides by a clear, deep lake fed from the river. This is the famed the Seat of Seeing. From this blessed stone, she grants the wisdom of Zivilyn to all those who supplicate her. It is said that from this stone, an aspect of Zivilyn taught his teaching to those that sought out the wisdom of nature during the Age of Dreams. Zivilyn blessed the stone and river, while his eternal partner, the Wild One, Chislev, blessed the grove, shielding it from the deprivations that have so scarred nature in the Ages since, then Chislev charged the grove with a forestmaster. Such is the prominence of this mystical site, that every single Prophet of Zivilyn has held their court within this glade throughout the Ages. The current Lady of the Glade is Mariena Bowyer, a Solamnic gentile by birth. She has been the chosen Prophet of Zivilyn since before the theft of the world and the loss of the gods. The Lady knew that the river flows ever on, and, even though her divine link had left, his miracles could be seen and felt within the Glade. She, along with the forestmaster, managed the Glade throughout the dreadful events of the Age of Mortals. The Lady knew that the common folk of Krynn needed something to believe in, her maintaining the Glade would grant those desperate to learn and understand a place to find the answers that they sought. When Zivilyn returned, along with the other gods of Krynn, he was delighted to see his former chosen prophet, looking as though untouched by the intervening years. He also was deeply saddened, for her life was drawing to the end and very soon she would journey on to the next stage of life, following the river that she so diligently cared for. He used his decreed that she would remain hale, until she could teach the next chosen prophet when they found their way into the Glade. After which, he will come to her and walk with her towards the Gate of Souls, and what lies beyond. Personality:The Lady has a charismatic charm, and a mischievous twinkle in her green eyes that bring those with her a sense of ease and calm. She enjoys talking with those that have travelled into the Glade to procure her seeing abilities. She warns all who she sees for, however, that they might not see what they want to see. The mysteries of the River of Time are complex and you could spend ten thousand life times seeking to unravel and understand their myriad meanings. For travellers that are weary when they arrive within the glade, she offers a small repast (courtesy of the Forestmaster) and allows them to compose themselves before the seeing. She strongly, yet kindly, encourages travellers not to stay within the Glade, though, as sacred grounds only those of the faithful or the faithful of Chislev are allowed to stay within the copse.
