Of average height, rakishly thin with sun gold blonde hair, Janthar's presence commands attention. A few observant individuals have noticed ever since the fall of Silvanesti, a cold harshness to his eyes that Janthar's famous smile fails to totally hide. HistoryAs a youth, Janthar was a happy young rogue delighting in the pleasures of his homeland recently reclaimed from Lorac's curse. He was the fifth child of a large family and was close to his parents and each every sibling, although his favourite was always his younger sister, Aylene the spoilt and adored sixth child. Even when the shield was raised he managed to maintain his optimism for life. During the time under the shield Janthar fell in love with a beautiful young noblewoman named Cynthal and married her, shattering the dreams and hopes of many other young ladies. Janthar delighted in his wife and revelled in the delights of family, both his own and his wife's. Things started to go wrong though, with what should have been wonderful news, that Cynthal was pregnant. It turned into a fight for survival as the draining effects of the shield threatened the lives of both the mother and child. Cynthal insisted Janthar with his skills with the blade answer Alhana's call to march upon Sanction even though she could not join herself as she was too weak and due to give birth any day. Reluctantly, Janthar surrendered to her wishes promising to return as soon as possible, leaving Aylene to watch over her. Then the minotaur came. After the Battle of Sanction, Janthar managed to make it back to Silvanost, battered and bloodied, determined to lead his family from the hellishly remade landscape. At the gates to the city though, he was greeted by a sight that nearly drove him mad, the head of his wife upon a pike. Looking up into the empty eye sockets of his soulmate, Janthar swore an oath to see the minotaur gone from their land and the Silvanesti returned. After some considerable effort he found Aylene working in a slave gang, and managed to free her. Aylene told of how Cynthal had died, after giving birth, they had both tried to flee with the child, but had been caught by a patrol and when Cynthal refused to hand over Janthar's newborn son, a minotaur "warrior" had casually beheaded her. Using a magical bronze griffin recovered from the ruins of their family home, Janthar and Aylene fled back to their exiled people. Janthar was a changed man, although he still wore the same charming smile and engaging manner that he always had, beneath it his heart was now ice and all that mattered is his oath to his dead wife. CurrentlyJanthar now leads a small, secretive, but determined band of like minded individuals who wish reclaim the ancient homeland. His sister Aylene is his trusted lieutenant and their immediate goal is to gather as much support as they can in any form, be it money, magic or manpower. Janthar is willing to do almost anything to further his goals, he has through Aylene's network of less than reputable associates hired goblin tribes to raid the minotaurs, fed false rumours of magical treasures to several human black robes causing sudden wave of undead for the bull-men. Janthar is even considering contacting the elven followers of Kinthalas even though he does not trust either them nor their god, favoured of the minotaurs.
