The Red Minotaur has a red-dyed fur covering his entire body, which is poisonous to the touch, anyone in contact with the Red Minotaur must succeed a Fortitude save (DC 15) or suffer 1d6 points of temporary Constitution damage. A layer of fur or clothing (such as gloves) negates this effect. The dyed fur is the sign of the current Red Minotaur winning the position in the arena.
The Red Minotaur's background can be found in his entry on the Dragonlance Lexicon.
In Your Campaign:
The Red Minotaur presented here was activate during the War of the Lance era, and was instrumental in keeping the minotaurs involvement in that war to a minimum. You might use the Red Minotaur in your campaign in his role as trying to bring the minotaur's closer to the races of the mainland. Alternatively, a Minotaur PC might challenge the Red Minotaur in the arena for his much coveted position and the prestige that goes with it. Or the Red Minotaur might enlist the aid of the PC's in order to thwart the schemes of the black dragonarmy.
Note: The Red Minotaur has taken all three Minotaur racial class levels, located here. The Minotaur racial class can be found in Trampas Whiteman's article Dragonlance Unearthed.
