Background:Grindlethorpe is a rather old gnome, who in his later years has come to depend on a cane that has been enchanted to act as a wand of frost. In his earlier years Grindlethorpe publicly denounced his use of magic in favor of re-embracing the usual gnome practice of inventing. This however is only a half-truth, as Grindlethorpe continues to secretly practice magic, many of his successful inventions being the result of an illusion spell cast to fool the audience. This wild character even makes boastful, if untrue claims that he once possessed the Staff of Magius, being the one to give it to Raistlin Majere. Grindlethorpe also physically manifests his colorful personality, in that he will only dress in one color at a time, sometimes dyeing his hair to match. Any rude remarks are taken quite seriously.
