I tried to base this write-up mostly on the novels and less so on the modules. In the novels it is clear that while Verminaard is a powerful cleric, he values his skill as a warrior to a greater extent. Verminaard would much prefer to pound an opponent with Nightbringer than cast spells. His levels, stats and skills have been adjusted accordingly. The main goal in this write-up was to maintain the ability to cast 4th level spells while enhancing his combat prowess. I still have to go through and address his equipment in more detail, especially the armor. I called it halfplate to represent its superior protection, but I suppose it could be super magical scale mail.
This version of Verminaard requires the use of the Defenders of the Faith sourcebook from Wizards of the Coast. If you do not own this sourcebook, replace his Warpriest levels with cleric levels, remove the Domination domain, Spell Focus (Enchantment) feat, and rally & inflame special abilities; lower his Fortitude save by 2 and increase his Will save by +1. Verminaard will gain one extra 3rd and one extra 4th level spells per day.
