Ring of Nature's Love

Pathfinder Rules

by Kendermage

"Nature's love will one day find its true heart and healing hands."

Lore

Upon a successful Knowledge (Arcana) check, a character can gain the following information about the ring of nature's love:

DC 20: The ring of nature's love was once in the possession a vampire named Kryl Shadestalker. Kryl is said to have gained the ring from a young noblewoman whom he turned into one of his brides on her wedding night. Rumor has it that famed Hero of the Lance, Tika Waylan stole it from the vampire as a young girl, but the rumor has never been substantiated.

DC 25: The ring of nature's love is one of a trio of artifacts collectively known as the Circle of Love. They were created in the Age of Dreams by Sirrion and given to Mishakal so that she might intercede with Shinare on his behalf. In time, Mishakal used the artifacts in an attempt to end a war between the Witikell and Jerrold noble families. The ring was given by her into the possession of wild mage Heris Jerrold. Through the machinations of Hiddukel, Heris's spirit was trapped in the ring. His brother Trae, and his brother's betrothed Mirri Witikell inhabit the other two artifacts. One day, fate will reunite these artifacts and the three of them shall be free.

Description

The ring of nature's love is a simple pewter ring carved to resemble twining branches and is set with a ruby shaped to resemble a blossoming rose.

Activation

In order to make use of the magical powers of the ring of nature's love, it must be worn on the ring finger of the wearer's right hand.

Effect

The ring of nature's love only detects as minor magic. It acts as both a ring of protection +2, adding a +2 deflection bonus to AC as well as a +2 divine bonus on all saving throws and as a major ring of energy resistance, providing 5 points of resistance against acid, cold, electricity, fire, and sonic damage.

The ring has one final effect. As long as the ring is worn, the wearer is conditionally immortal. It slows the aging process and doubles the rate of natural healing (2 HP/character level/day). The wearer is still vulnerable to disease and violence, but otherwise is undying.

Aura: weak abjuration
