Phylactery of Long YearsD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby Clive SquirePhylactery of Long Years (Major Wondrous Item)This strange device, normally fashioned to be worn around the wearers head or wrist, contains a small enclosure filled with sacred texts and passages. While worn, the wearer finds his aging process slowed down. When initially worn, the phylactery stops the aging process for the wearer for 2 years per the wearer's HD (to a maximum of 40 years) or until the phylactery is removed, whichever happens first. Once that time has elasped, the wearer resumes aging as normal. The effects of the phylactery of long years is a permanent effect and cannot be dispelled by normal means. The effects can be reversed by means of a wish or like spell or the application of the greater river's ravages spell.
