Combat

Glitarald usually tends to prefer to go unnoticed by mortals, wearing a humanoid shape so as to blend in. He will try to talk over fighting, like many gold dragons, but he will not hesitate to enter the battle against his evil cousins.

Alternate Form: Glitarald can assume any animal or humanoid form of Medium size or smaller as a standard action three times per day. This ability functions as a polymorph spell cast on itself as a 13th caster, except that Glitarald does not regain hit points for changing form and can only assume the form of an animal or humanoid. Glitarald can remain in his animal or humanoid form until he chooses to assume a new one or return to his natural form.

Breath Weapon (Su): Cone of fire, 60 feet long, every 1d4 rounds; damage 18d10, Reflex half DC 34. Glitarald can use a cone of weakness gas instead of fire, those that fail their saves against it suffer 9 points of temporary Strength ability damage.

Crush: Area 20ft by 15ft, Medium or smaller opponents take 4d6+22 of bludgeoning damage and must make a Reflex saving throw (DC 34) or be pinned; grapple bonus +59.

Detect Gems (Sp): 3/day, Glitarald can use this ability, similar to detect magic, this spell finds only gems. Studying for one round reveals presence or absence of gems, 2 rounds reveal exact number of gems, and 3 rounds reveals exact location, type, and value.

Frightful Presence (Ex): 270ft radius, creatures with 32HD or less, Willpower save DC 34.

Luck Bonus (Sp): Once per day Giltarald can touch one gem (usually embedded in the his hide) and enchant it to bring good luck. As long as Glitarald carries the gem, it and every good creature in a 90ft radius receives a +1 luck bonus as per stone of good luck. If Glitarald gives the gem to another creature, only the bearer gets the bonus. The enchantment lasts 1d3+27 hours but ends if the gem is destroyed. This ability is the equivalent of a 2nd-level spell.

Spell-Like Abilities: 3/day -bless; 1/day –geas/quest.

Spells: As a 13th level sorcerer.

Spells Known (cast 6/8/8/8/8/7/5; saving throw DC 18 + spell level): 0 –detect magic, resistance, detect poison, read magic, dancing lights, ghost sound, mage hand, open/close, mending; 1st –charm person, mage armour, divine favour, cure light wounds, shield; 2nd –bear's endurance bull's strength, elemental dart*, cure moderate, scorching ray; 3rd –dispel magic, fireball, magic circle against evil, suggestion; 4th –spell immunity, dimension door, detect scrying, wall of fire; 5th –greater command, righteous might, dominate person; 6 –heal, greater dispelling. (*Spell found in the Dragonlance Campaign Setting.)

Tail Sweep: As a standard action, Glitarald can sweep his tail in a half-circle with a radius of 30ft. Small or smaller creatures take 2d6+22 points of bludgeoning damage and are allowed a Reflex saving throw (DC 34) for half damage.

Water Breathing (Ex): Glitarald can breathe underwater indefinitely and can freely use his breath weapons, spells, and other abilities while submerged.
