Gully Dwarf ProphetSAGA Rulesby Steve MillerSeveral times during gully dwarf history, a strange child has been born. Able to see past the veil of today and into the day after tomorrow, these gully dwarf prophets hold legendary status among their people. After all, what gully dwarf doesn't know the dread prophesy: "Two years after a great cataclysm, two companions will face the two-headed dragon and save all of Krynn." There have been at least two gully dwarf prophets since the race first appeared in the hills of the Ergothian empire. RequirementsAs heroes with this role are all gully dwarves, they must meet the basic requirements for gully dwarf player characters. In addition, gully dwarf prophets must have at least a C code in Spirit. (They have some awareness of the mystical forces that surround and bind the people of Ansalon together.) AdvantagesStandard racial package. Plus, in his home community, the gully dwarf prophet receives automatic trump on all Presence actions involving getting the attention of other gully dwarves and motivating them to unified action. (That is, after all, one of the things the two known gully dwarf prophets were famous for... their great leadership abilities. The other things were the ability to cook a mean pot of chili and their power to see the future.) Further, on a successful Spirit action, the gully dwarf receives a vision. The Narrator can make this vision as clear or murky as he wants. The Narrator should treat these visions as hints or adventure seeds. DisadvantagesStandard racial package. Gully dwarf prophets are frequently persecuted by small-minded so-called "priests" of the so-called "true gods," not to mention the Knights of Solamnia. Gully dwarf prophets still recall the treatment the great seer Ephume received when he climbed the walls of the High Clerist's Tower to shout, "The two Solamnic Orders will be scattered to the two winds if two Dark Knights and two Solamnic Knights do not face the Big-footed God!" For this reason, they always fail Presence actions when interacting with priests and other deeply religious characters.
