FrostbiteD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby Clive SquireFrostbiteEvocation [Cold] Your magic causes the temperature to plummet in the area selected, freezing those caught within its frigid grip. When cast, all creatures that are within the area of effect suffer cold damage unless they succeed a Fortitude saving throw. Those that succeed on their save suffer no damage. Creatures that fail the saving throw suffer 5d4 points of cold damage on the initial round in which the spell is cast. On subsequent rounds, the creatures affected suffer one less die of damage (suffering 4d4 cold damage on the 2nd round, 3d4 cold damage on the 3rd and so on until the 6th round when the spells effects ends). Those that are affected by frostbite can make a Fortitude save to halve any cold damage on subsequent rounds. Creatures that are affected by frostbite can halt the spell with a successful Heal skill check (DC 10 + the last cold damage dealt by the spell). If successful, the spell ends for that creature.
