Palin's Elemental Summoning I

Level: Sor/Wiz 1
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 full round
Range: Close (25ft + 5ft/2 levels)
Target: One summoned creature
Duration: 1 round/level
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

This spell summons an elemental creature that attacks your enemies. The elemental creature appears where you designate and acts immediately, on your turn. The summoned creature attacks your opponents to the best of its ability. If you can communicate with the elemental, you can direct it not to attack, to attack particular enemies, or to perform other actions. Summoned creatures act normally on the last round of the spell and disappear at the end of their turn.

Only creatures that are of the animal, magical beast or vermin types may be summoned using this spell and all such creatures gain the elemental creature template (see the Manual of the Planes for the elemental creature template).

Any creature from the list below can be summoned using Palin's elemental creation spell.

As with other summoning spells, when you use a summoning spell to summon an air, chaotic, earth, evil, fire, good, lawful, or water creature, it is a spell of that type. For example, Palin's elemental creation I is a fire spell when cast to summon a fire rat.

Focus: A tiny bag and a small (not necessarily lit) candle and a small piece of elemental material appropriate to the summoned creatures elemental type.
