Corpse Link

Necromancy
Level: Clr/Mys 1, Sor/Wiz 1
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Close (25ft + 5ft/2 levels)
Target/Area/Effect: 1 undead creature
Duration: 10 minutes/level
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

You establish a sensory link between you and a corpse freshly animated as a zombie or skeleton of a humanoid race (any race that has the quot;Humanoidquot; or quot;Monstrous Humanoidquot; descriptor) within the spells range. The link allows you to gather sensory information from the vicinity of the undead creature. For every 3 levels above 1st level, you gain additional information via the link. At 4th level you can use 2 senses, at 7th level 3 senses, at 10th level 4 senses and at 13th level all five senses.

  • Sight: you can see through the undead creatures eyes as if looking out of your own.
  • Sound: you can hear through the undeads ears, as if you were there listening.
  • Smell: you can smell through the undead, as if you were there to smell the scent. The spell masks the smell of rotting flesh.
  • Taste: you can taste things through the undead, exactly as if you were eating the thing yourself. This could be useful when checking poison in food or identifying unknown potions. The spell masks the taste of rotting flesh.
  • Touch: you can feel things exactly as if you were there touching it. You can gauge the surface texture and temperature of the object being touched.

The type and number of sensory signals is chosen by you at the time of casting, and cannot be changed later. You gain the information through a single organ (eye, nostril, ear, half a tongue or hand) belonging to the undead creature. While this spell is in effect, you can still use your own senses. You can issue commands to the undead creature, no more than four words. These commands are used mainly to control the motion of the undead creature, like quot;turn leftquot; or quot;move forward 10 stepsquot;.

Material Components: A newly animated zombie or skeleton of a humanoid race and the appropriate sensory organ from a creature noted for its senses.
