Dragon Rage spellsD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby Clive SquireOriginally rumoured to have been created by the Black Robe wizard, Galan Dracos, during the Age of Right, the dragon rage spell allowed the wizards to enhance the fighting abilities of the Queen of Darkness' forces, and was effectively used against the Solamnic forces until the famed war mage, Magius, presented a copy to the White Robed wizards after he switched allegiance from the Dark Queen's forces to the Solamnics. This spell was originally known as the dark queen's wyrmlings and was both a hindrance as much as a blessing to those the enchantment was placed on. After the spell was acquired by the forces of Light, they quickly devised a counter spell to the evil chromatic dragon rage spell, infusing the power of the children of Paladine into a creature, however, they have never been able to rid the spell of the instability, which causes the creatures to become enraged. This ultimately led to the forces of good rejecting the use of the spell. Dragon Rage [Chromatic]Transmutation [Evil, Polymorph] By calling to upon the foul energies of your Dark Queen, you infuse her fighting warriors with the primal power of her chosen children dragons. By using this spell, you grant the proto-draconic template to the creature touched of your choice. The target creature gains the benefits and penalties of the template at the end of the casting time. At which point, the spell immediately and painfully transforms the creature into a pseudo-draconic creature based on one of the chromatic dragons (black, blue, green, red and white), shifting his skin into scales, elongating his jaw and teeth and sharpening his nail as to become claws. This process is extremely painful, forcing the target creature to make a Fortitude save against the normal DC for this spell with a –4 penalty. If the pseudo-draconic creature fails the save, he immediately becomes volatile and unsteady. For the duration of the spell, the pseudo-draconic creature gains the rage class feature as if he were a barbarian of an equal level. If the touched creature is already a barbarian, he gains an additional use of his rage ability for the spell's duration. Creatures that succeed their save gain the proto-draconic template but do not gain the rage ability. Due to the instability of the process, the template can never be added permanently to a creature through any means known. Material Components: A dragon scale from any type and a candle. Dragon Rage (Metallic)Transmutation [Good, Polymorph] As dragon rage (chromatic) except that the creature gains the benefits of one of the metallic dragons (brass, bronze, copper, gold and silver).
