Minotaur WeaponsD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby Sir SothusThe minotaurs have a long tradition of fighting, not only against their many enemies but also against themselves in the circus. Being such a fighting race, they have developed a great deal of weapons to use in their fights. Notice that all weapons have a size according to 3.0 rules and a size according to 3.5 rules. I've done so because 3.0 is more understanding, and 3.5 is the current rule set (which, for weapons, I hate, they are too complicated). Please, take a look at the Player's Handbook if you decide to make any weapon of different size (which I don't recommend: I cannot imagine minotaurs making small-sized sanguines, for example). Also note that I have included a conversion from metric measures to imperial.
DescriptionsForpann: This is a trident with a rope at its end that has a 3m (10-foot) weighted net attached to its extreme. The net can be used as a standard net (as per page 119 of the Player's Handbook) but it doesn't need to be folded, nor can it be thrown beyond the reach of the rope that ties it to the trident. Kausin: The kausin is a 1.8m (6-foot) long weapon composed of six linked iron bars attached to a protected handle. It is used like a flail, but being six-jointed a specialist can use it to bypass a shield ignoring its bonus to AC. To do so the wielder must succed in a Bluff check as if making a feint (but the defender is not also denied his Dexterity bonus to AC). Lajatang: See page 154 of the Complete Warrior for rules regarding this weapon. Mandoll: The mandoll is a minotaur cestus. It is an iron glove with barbs in the knuckles and a dagger blade along the thumb. Sanguine: This 1.5m (7-foot) long gladiator weapon has a serrated spearhead on both ends and a small buckler with a blade on its center. It can be used as a two-headed, two-handed or one-handed weapon, and can be used as a spear (but cannot be thrown). Shatang: The shatang is basically a heavy javelin with a serrated spearhead. Shatangs are very well balanced, so a character with the Weapon Finesse feat can consider one shatang as one size category smaller when fighting with two of these weapons. Sword, Clabbard: Clabbards are 1.8m (6-foot) broad-bladed swords with one serrated edge that is useful for sawing leather and hide armors (providing a +1 to the attack bonus against enemies with those kind of armor). It also has a drain along the blade to help channel the blood of its victim and making it easier to pull it from a body. Sword, Katar: This sword is a 15cm (6-inch) long blade mounted in an H-shaped handle. The fighter holds it by the slash in the 'H', which protects the fighter's hand as well. This weapon can be used either by piercing the enemy and hitting him with it (a specialist can deal non-lethal damage when using it as a bludgeon). It also provides a +1 circumstance bonus to disarm attempts. Tessto: A tessto is a two-handed 1.8m (6-foot) club with metallic barbs on it, and a lasso on the handle. The handle can be used to trip enemies without provoking attacks of opportunity.
