Galan Dracos's Split ClonesD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby Krain BloodwunGalan Dracos's Split ClonesChaos When cast, this spell allows a renegade to tap into the realm of chaos and call upon the power to divide himself into two equal parts. The renegade must decide at the time of casting how to divide his possessions. When the spell is cast, the two forms must be within the spell's range. After the spell is cast, the split clones can travel beyond this limit. In essence, the renegade can exist in two places at once. He does this by creating a magical link for his mind, life force, and magic that connects to the clones. While he exists as a split clone he must draw his magic, life force etc. from this magical link. The split clones can transfer hit points through this link. The renegade's mind draws upon the senses of two bodies. The caster does not gain extra hit points, nor can he memorize more spells then normal. However, he can cast two spells in the same round. The caster can also memorize spells with one clone while the other slept. If the caster had the protection of a spell such as stoneskin, he could switch that protection from round to round as long as the clones are within the spell's normal range (as listed above).
Casting this spell a second time before the first has ended will increase the spell's duration. Notes: Dalamar has confirmed that notes about this spell were in Raistlin's spell books. However, nothing was mentioned about Galan Dracos nor was the complete spell found in Raistlin's spellbook. A copy of this spell does exist in the vault of the Tower of Wayreth. From time to time, the Heads of the Conclave have allowed Wizards of high Sorcery to study the spell, to date none have been able to decipher it due to its chaotic nature (i.e. the Chaos Sense feat is need to learn it). Several wizards have destroyed their sanity attempting to cast this spell. Dalamar has stated that Galan Dracos never got the spell to work correctly either as history points out he was after all destroyed. But new questions are being raised as history also points out that Raistlin was also destroyed. Did Raistlin manage to make it work?
