Poisonous Tongue of HiddukelD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby The Prince of LiesThe Poisonous Tongue of Hiddukel is a secret sect mostly composed of rogue/clerics of Hiddukel. Their primary objective is to spread chaos and disorder throughout Krynn. They can infiltrate practically any group or organization, thus they are the best spies and murderers ever seen. They sometimes try to persuade a king to act as he wants, while some sect's interest is being fulfilled. They can tell lies that are practically undetectable, influence someone that has the heart and the brain of a knight, and murder even the smartest rogue without being noticed. Combining their rogue and clerical abilities with a huge knowledge of poisons, this sect is greatly feared by those few who have heard about it. Everyone who knows about the sect is unstoppably hunted until slain. Once in a while, a person is found unexplainably dead in some large city, and the local militia never discovers what happened. Such a victim probably discovered something about the sect. This sect came into being around 100 years before the War of the Lance. The members were a lucky few who knew the truth of the gods. They acted in secret, and no one knew that this sect existed. After the War of the Lance, the sect gained new members as knowledge of the true gods came to the world. The leader and founder of the Poisonous Tongue is still alive, and is rumored to be the greatest of Hiddukel's clerics even though no one knows his name, location, or how many people he may be influencing. He may be infiltrating the largest organizations of Krynn, deciding the future of many. RequirementsAlignment: Any evil. Class SkillsThe poisonous tongue of Hiddukel's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Bluff (Cha), Climb (Str), Disguise (Cha), Disable Device (Int), Forgery (Int), Gather Information (Cha), Hide (Dex), Knowledge (poison) (Int), Knowledge (religion) (Int), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Open Lock (Dex), Pick Pockets (Dex), Search (Int), Sense Motive (Wis), Spot (Wis), Tumble (Dex), and Use Rope (Dex).
Class FeaturesWeapon and Armor Proficiency: Poisonous tongues do not gain any additional weapon or armor proficiency, and must continue to abide by existing weapon or armor restrictions. Skill Focus (Bluff): Poisonous tongues gain this feat for free at 1st level and every 3 levels thereafter (4th, 7th, and 10th). Recognize Any Poison (Ex): At 1st level, the poisonous tongue can recognize any type of poison simply by smelling it. The poisonous tongue can determine the poison's effects (primary and secondary damage), concentration, and the poison's antidote. Sneak Attack (Ex): Starting at 2nd level, the poisonous tongue can sneak attack as a rogue. This ability stacks with any existing sneak attack ability the character already has. Change Self (Su): At 2nd level, the poisonous tongue can change self once per day, as the spell. Anyone that comes in physical contact with the caster must make a Will save (DC 11 + poisonous tongue's Wisdom modifier) to recoginize the illusion. Permanent Nondetection (Su): At 3rd level, the poisonous tongue has a permanent nondetection spell on himself. If someone wishes to detect his true alignment or any spell on him (such as with know alignment or detect magic), treat the character as if having spell resistance equal to 11 + levels in the prestige class + the poisonous tongue's cleric level. Suggestion (Su): At 3rd level, the poisonous tongue can use suggestion once per day, as the spell (DC 13 + Wis modifier to resist). At 6th level, the poisonous tongue can use this ability twice per day. Deadly Poison (Ex): At 4th level, the poisonous tongue is capable of crafting a deadly venom. This is one of the order's deepest secrets and is only taught to those who join the order. This venom is very toxic. The target suffers 3d6 points of damage and must make a Fortitude save (DC 13 + class levels). If the saving throw fails, the target dies in 3 rounds. Expert Tactician: At 6th level, the poisonous tongue gains the Expert Tactician feat for free. Undetectable Lie (Su): At 7th level, the poisonous tongue can say any lie, and this cannot be detected by any magical means. This power lasts 1 minute per class level. In addition, anyone who hears the lie must make a Will save (DC 14 + Cha modifier) or completely believe the lie. Mass Suggestion (Su): At 9th level, the poisonous tongue can use mass suggestion once per day, as the spell. The poisonous tongue can influence up to 1 creature per class level and cleric level combined (so a 5th-level rogue, 5th-level cleric, 7th-level poisonous tongue can affect up to 12 people). Poisonous Tongue (Su): When the poisonous tongue reaches 10th level, his own tongue becomes a poison producer. He is capable of spitting this venom (after building up the venom for 3 full rounds) and licking weapons. This poison can be deadly or paralytic, at the player's option. If the poisonous tongue chooses a deadly poison, the victim takes 5d6 points of damage and must make a Fortitude save (DC 14 + Wis modifier) or die in 3 rounds. If the poisonous tongue chooses a paralyzing poison, the victim must make a Fortitude save (DC 16 + Wis modifier). If the venom is spit, all saving DCs are reduced by 2. If the venom is insinuated into the bloodstream (with a poisoned blade that slashes an opponent, for example), the saving DCs are increased by 2.
