Dragon SlayerD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby Eduardo & KukocIn the world of Krynn, dangerous dragons fly all over the sky. Some are evil, some are good, but all share one thing - they all have people hunting them, the dragon slayers. The dragon slayer is a devoted and furious warrior that lives only for bringing death to his hated enemies, he is moved by an internal rage almost always originated by a horrid experience involving dragons, or sometimes by faith. Feared and lonely, this character brings either bad luck or hope. RequirementsTo qualify to become a dragon slayer, a character must fulfill the following requirements: Class SkillsThe dragon slayer's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Climb (Str), Heal (Wis), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), Knowledge (dragons) (Int), Knowledge (history) (Int), Knowledge (religion) (Int), Listen (Wis), Spot (Wis), Survival (Wis), and Swim (Str).
Class FeaturesAll of the following are class features of the dragon slayer prestige class. Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A dragon slayer is proficient with all simple and martial weapons, all types of armor, and shields. Favored Dragon Enemy: At 1st level and every odd level beyond, the dragon slayer chooses a dragon type as his favored enemy. This is just like the ranger's favored enemy ability. At every odd level, he must choose a different dragon. Detect Draconic Creature: The heightened senses of the dragon slayer are able to automatically detect any draconic creature in a 60-foot radius. To use this power, the dragon slayer must concentrate for one round. Damage Bonus: A dragon slayer that makes a successful attack roll against a dragon receives a damage bonus equal to his level. Improved Resist Dragonfear: At 4th level, a dragon slayer gains the Improved Resist Dragonfear feat. Fearless Strike (Su): At 6th level, a dragonslayer becomes so mad about killing his enemies that once per day, when reduced to 10% of his hit point total, he may choose to hit the dragon with a powerful strike. When the dragon slayer uses this ability he loses one-half of his Constitution score for the rest of the day as he screams a baneful sound of hate and courage. Everyone who listens to the scream automatically gains a +2 bonus on Will saves against dragonfear. The dragonslayer adds his level as an attack bonus, and twice his level as a damage bonus. For example, an 8th-level dragon slayer sees himself in danger against a red dragon. In hate, he uses this ability, so in the same round he adds +8 to his attack roll and +16 to his damage roll. Death Curse (Su): When a dragon slayer meets his final death at the hands of a draconic creature, the dragon slayer's will to kill the enemy gets even stronger and the dragonslayer explodes in a burst of rage and hatred. Any dragon slayer with this power that watches a friend or fellow dragon slayer die in combat against a dragon curses that dragon. For the rest of the scene, the dragon suffers a -4 penalty on attack rolls, AC, and saves. Fear Aura: At 10th level, the dragon slayer is an expert at killing all creatures draconic. He gains his own frightful presence, whereby dragons and draconians with less than one-half the dragon slayer's Hit Dice must make Will saves (DC 10 + dragon slayer's class level + dragon slayer's Cha modifier) or despair for 6d6 rounds. The dragon slayer's fear aura has a 60-foot radius. Fan RatingsThis item has been published here with permission from the author(s) and may not be reproduced without permission.
