Faith Channeler

Faith channelers concentrate on the raw divine power of their deities. Rather than concerning themselves with spells and magic, they act as vessels for holy power, akin to that called upon when turning undead.

The first of the channelers appeared around 1800 PC during the Rose Rebellion. Undead were used against the rebels, at which stage an order of channelers was formed to turn away such evil. Up until the First Cataclysm they remained a small group of force, contending against the undead who grew rare as darkness throughout the empire withdrew.

During the Chaos War, the channelers reformed to fight the undead spawned by Chaos, proving to be effective against the myriad of creatures that were intent on turning Krynn to cinders.

Requirements

Race: Any (at the DM's discretion).
Skills: Concentration 6 ranks, Knowledge (religion) 6 ranks.
Feats: Extra Turning, one additional divine feat.
Spells: Ability to cast 2nd-level divine spells, and must have access to the Good or Sun domain.
Special: Must have successfully turned and destroyed undead.

Class Skills:

The faith channeler's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Heal (Wis), Knowledge (religion) (Int), Profession (Wis), Scry (Int, exclusive skill), and Spellcraft (Int).
Skill Points at Each Level: 3 + Int modifier.

Class Features

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Faith channelers are proficient with all simple weapons, all types of armor (light, medium, and heavy), and with shields.

Spells per Day: A faith channeler rarely focuses on magic, but more on raw divine power. Even so, they gain clerical magic, and may add +1 spellcasting level to a divine spellcasting class at every even level of the prestige class.

Turn Undead: The character may add his faith channeler class levels to any other class with an ability to turn undead when determining his turning undead abilities.

Focus upon Light: At 1st level, the faith channeler gains a +1 bonus to caster levels when casting any Good or Sun spell. This bonus increases by +1 at 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level.

Positive Touch: The faith channeler gains the power to convert the positive energy of his turning attempts, allowing him to heal the living or harm the undead. The faith channeler expends 1 turning attempt, and the amount of damage healed is 1d6 + 1 hit points for every class level of faith channeler. This is done as a free action, and requires a touch attack to use offensively.

Greater Turning: The faith channeler may choose to imbue his normal turning attempts with additional power. The faith channeler makes the turning check and, if it is successful, the creature or creatures must make a Reflex save (DC 10 + Cha modifier + class level) or be destroyed. If the creature makes a successful save, it suffers 1d4 points of damage per faith channeler class level. This ability may be used once per day for every 3 levels of the faith channeler.

Radiant Goodness: The faith channeler may expend 1 turning attempt to create effects equal to bless, consecrate, and magic circle against evil at a caster level equal to the faith channeler's turning level. The effects are centered on the faith channeler. This requires a standard action to activate.

Life's Light: The faith channeler can choose to focus his positive energy as a beam, allowing him to make ranged touch attacks with his Positive Touch ability.

Extra Turning: The faith channeler's practice with channeling positive energy allows him to gain the Extra Turning feat.

Guarded Life: The life force is so strong within the faith channeler, that he may add +4 to saving throws against any death effects or energy drain attacks.

Aura of Light: The faith channeler may expend one turning attempt to generate a protective aura in a 30-foot radius. This aura gives the faith channeler and anyone else he chooses within it to gain a deflection bonus to AC equal to the faith channeler's Cha modifier, as well as a bonus to all saving throws equal to the character's Cha modifier. This ability stacks with similar Charisma-based bonuses (e.g. a paladin's divine grace). The aura lasts for a number of rounds equal to 1 + Cha modifier + the faith channeler's class level. The use of this aura is glaring to undead and evil creatures, and they receive a penalty equal to the faith channeler's Cha modifier when trying to detect the faith channeler (e.g. Spot checks).
