Game Abilities

Alignment: Lawful good.
Hit Die: d8.

Requirements

Skills: Diplomacy 8 ranks, Knowledge (nobility & royalty) 8 ranks, Ride 8 ranks.
Feats: Expertise, Iron Will, Mounted Combat.
Special: Must be a Knight of the Sword of 4th level or higher, in good standing.

Class Skills

The Knight of the Rose's class skills are Bluff (Cha), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Gather Information (Cha), Handle Animal (Cha), Jump (Str), Knowledge (nobility & royalty) (Int), Knowledge (religion) (Int), Profession (Wis), Ride (Dex), Sense Motive (Wis), and Swim (Str).

Skill Points at 1st Level: (6 + Int modifier) x 4.

Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 6 + Int modifier.

Class Features

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Proficient in all simple and martial weapons, as well as all armor and all shields.

Code of Conduct: Knights of the Rose add the following duties to their own Code of Conduct:

  • Govern and protect the lands and properties of the knighthood justly and without avarice.
  • Respect those under your authority with grace and honesty. Do not commit undue harm to them.

Bonded Mount: This ability grants the knight a mount of exceptional quality. In addition, the knight may attempt to gain a dragon mount at any level. This will require an act of heroism and a display of devotion on the knight's part, however success is not guaranteed.

Noble Bearing: Knights of the Rose gain a bonus to all Knowledge (nobility & royalty) and Knowledge (religion) skill checks equal to their level in this class. This bonus is added to the knight's Leadership score as well.

Divine Understanding: At 2nd level, the knight may take 20 on all Wisdom-based class skills without the normal increased time requirements. This ability extends to Intelligence-based skills at 8th level.

Bonus Feat: At various levels, the knight gains bonus feats as a fighter.

Hero of Battle: Knights of the Rose at 4th level are reckoned as great heroes and symbols of the knighthood. As long as they remain on the battlefield fighting, all lawful and good allies gain a +2 morale bonus to saves against fear or charm, as well as a +1 morale bonus to hit and weapon damage. The knight granting the bonus may not gain his own benefits, however he may gain the bonus from another. This bonus does not stack with itself. All allies within 60 feet plus 10 feet per point of the knight's Charisma modifier are allowed to take the bonus.

Shield of Valor: The knight gains his shield's AC benefit to save against any attacks of opportunity, as well as physical magic attacks.

Master of Battle: The bonuses gained from the knight's Hero of Battle ability are doubled (+4 to morale/saves and +2 to hit/damage). Additionally, all allies gain 3d4 hit points while on the field of battle.
