Magic: Knights of the Sword are divine spellcasters and cast as if paladins (see the Player's Handbook) of equal level. However, their spells per day are listed below. This table replaces the table found under the Paladin class in the Player's Handbook. The Knight of the Sword's caster level is equal to his class level - 3. Detect Evil: As per the spell, the knight may use this ability at will as a standard action. Divine Grace: The knight adds his Charisma modifier as a bonus to his saves, and may grant another individual this bonus by concentration and touching the target. Only the knight and one other may benefit from this ability. Divine Health: The knight is immune to disease and poison of a non-magical nature. Lay on Hands: This ability allows the knight to heal wounds, up to (Cha modifier x level) in hit points per day. This duplicates the paladin ability listed in the Player's Handbook. However, when the recipient is the knight's bonded mount, the knight's Wisdom modifier multiplies the number of HPs healed. Aura of Courage: The knight is immune to fear. In addition, all allies within 10' per point of the knight's Wisdom modifier make morale checks and fear saving throws with a +2 bonus. Smite Evil: This duplicates the paladin ability listed in the Player's Handbook. Bonded Mount: This ability grants the knight a mount of exceptional quality. In addition, the knight may attempt to gain a dragon mount at any level. This will require an act of heroism and a display of devotion on the knight's part, however success is not guaranteed. Bonus Feat: At various levels, the knight gains bonus feats as a fighter.
