Knight of the CrownD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby KalshannGame AbilitiesAlignment: Any lawful or good. Class SkillsThe Knight of the Crown's class skills are Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Handle Animal (Cha), Jump (Str), Knowledge (nobility & royalty) (Int), Knowledge (religion) (Wis), Profession (Wis), Ride (Dex), and Swim (Str). Skill Points at 1st Level: (2 + Int modifier) x 4. Class FeaturesWeapon and Armor Proficiency: Proficient in all simple and martial weapons, as well as all armor and all shields. Code of Conduct: Knights of all three orders adhere to a litany of codes and laws. In order to remain a knight in good standing, a character may not break any of these obligations. In order to remain in the Knighthood, a character may not have more than three incidents, or a knightly council will be convened and the knight's worth will be brought into question. Punishment can include dismissal from the Knighthood. These are the guidelines a Knight of the Crown must follow:
The Oath and the Measure: At this level the knight gains 1d10 hit points plus his Constitution modifier. This counts as an additional Hit Die. Bonus Feat: At various levels, the knight gains bonus feats as a fighter. Weapon Specialization: Beginning at 4th level, the knight may achieve weapon specialization, just like a fighter. At 5th level, the knight gains a free Weapon Specialization feat in either the longsword or lance, if the knight already has the Weapon Focus. Heroic Shield: The knight may choose to place himself in harm's way to defend those near him. The knight must be in the threatened range of the attack and within 5 ft. of the original target. Against any single attack he is aware of in the round, the knight may choose to "take the hit" after the attack is rolled but before the damage is dealt. The damage and effects are applied to the knight instead of the original target. Hero of Battle: Knights of the Crown at 10th level are reckoned as great heroes and symbols of the knighthood. As long as they remain on the battlefield fighting, all lawful and good allies gain a +2 morale bonus to saves against fear or charm, as well as a +1 morale bonus to hit and weapon damage. The knight granting the bonus may not gain his own benefits, however he may gain the bonus from another. This bonus does not stack with itself. All allies within 180 feet plus 10 feet per point of the knight's Charisma modifier are allowed to take the bonus. My Honor is my Life: At 16th level, the knight may continue fighting past his own physical limit. This ability may only be used once per day, and the knight is considered to have an "unconsciousness threshold" equal to the knight's Charisma modifier x his level in negative hit points.
