Bind Dragon

SOR/WIZ 7th lvl
Abjuration

Components: V, S, XP, see below
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Medium (100 ft. + 10 ft./level)
Target: 1 creature
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Fortitude partial
Spell Resistance: Yes

Upon casting this spell, target dragon is subjected to a powerful 'imprisonment'-like magic, forcing the dragon to be entombed into the depths of the earth under stasis. The dragon makes a fort save, with a +2 bonus to the DC for each item the caster possesses during the casting of this spell: a dragonbane item, part of the dragon's body, a Dragonorb or any similarly powerful dragon-related artifact. The maximum bonus to the spell is equal to the spellcaster's level, and is included in determining spell resistance checks. A failed save means the dragon is imprisoned, as per 'Imprisonment' spell, otherwise, the dragon is dazed for 1 round.

XP cost is 50 XP per HD of the dragon.

This spell was created during the past Dragon Wars. It was thought to be lost for years, until a white robe stumbled upon it in a storage room in Solamnia.
