Tragor's Greatsword "The Gaze of Malys"D&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby DeusDescription:Damage: 2d6 +2 [critical 18-20] Tragor, the champion of Kurthak Black-Gazer, assisted his master in the great defeat at Kendermore, but was slain during the battle. His two-handed Greatsword, dubbed "The Gaze of Death" by the followers of Kurthak, who were destined to meet it, should they cross the dark hitman. Used primarily to mete out punishment amongst the ranks, this +2 Vorpal Greatsword (Giving it an enhancement bonus of +7) acts mostly as a normal +2 greatsword with the vorpal ability, but with some minor differences. Unless the weilder of the Sword has the Leadership feat and at least (16) ranks in it, then the sword will lose all of it's enhancement and act simply as a greatsword. One exception to this rule is that if the weilder of the sword is under the influence of a character or NPC who has the Leadership feat and (16) ranks in it, then the sword will function as it is meant to, and the critical range is increased as if the weilder had the Improved Critical feat. The Gaze of Malys appears large, even for a greatsword. This is simply to represent the enhancement bonuses that the blade is imbued with. Long, jagged spines and shards of shattered metal jut out from the face of the blade, ensuring that there is never a clean cut, the wounds always rent and torn, but not diminishing the power of the blade. The hilt of the sword appears to be a large, polished bone, wrapped in black straps of cloth with rust-red trim. The claw mark of malys is burned into the wrapping on the hilt, and from it, a skull, it's grinning jaw wide open, vomits forth the blade.
