Tourist TrapD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby MattTourist Trap: CR 3; 300 x 300 ft. cube (1d4+2 hours and 5d6gp/level); Will save (DC20) negates, Search (DC1). Notes: Tourist traps are generally found in large cities, especially near monuments or major attractions. It is possible to find these traps in other locales, but more unlikely. In addition, it is possible for characters to be affected by multiple tourist traps operating within the same area. The save vs. a tourist trap must be made when the character makes contact with the shop/stall/vendor/cart that is 'trapped'. Conditional modifiers to the DC are allowed (and encouraged) at the DM's discretion. Characters are allowed a second saving throw to halve the effects of the trap if the prices in the shop are more than twice that for comprable merchandise in the surrounding area.
